Hey, I'm Rebecca!
I was born and raised in Florida and moved to New York City after high school to pursue a BFA in Drama on scholarship from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. I studied within The New Studio on Broadway and was able to collaborate on new work, such as the rock musical Times Square with The Civilians and The Mollyhouse with Kent Gash and NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Program.
Since graduating, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with new Latin playwrights, such as Viviana Prado-Núñez on And The Trees Fall Down and Daniel Pérez on [app]arition. I also had the pleasure of joining the company of The Bacchae with The Classical Theatre of Harlem, which was a New York Times' Critic's Pick.
Outside of performing, I work with New Sanctuary Coalition, which assists immigrants facing deportation.
I’m a proud Cuban American artist and believe in the power of art that is inclusive, empathetic, and thought provoking.
"It is through art that we will prevail and we will endure. It lives on after us and defines us as people." - Rita Moreno
